Vale – Peter Davies

Peter (Basil) Davies sadly passed away on the 10th March 2018 at the age of 60 after a long battle with cancer. Basil is best known in Victorian cricket circles for his long and illustrious career of 269 games with Waverley and Richmond in Victorian Premier Cricket and 6 First Class games for Victoria. Basil joined Box Hill as Captain / Coach in 1995/96 at the tender age of 38. Whilst his best years were behind him his class was on display each time he took to the crease in the 59 matches he played for the Box Hill Cricket Club across five seasons. Basil was Captain Coach for two seasons before returning to the club for a further three seasons to play with mates and enjoy the dressing room comradery.

Basil will be best remembered by his teammates and friends at the club as one of the true “great blokes” in cricket and life.

The Box Hill Cricket Club would like to extend its deepest sympathy to Peter’s family and friends on this sad occasion.
